While I was born in Missouri, I have spend almost all of my life in the Garden State. I grew up at the beach and still spend some time there every summer. (Last summer was spent cleaning up from Sandy).
After graduating from Duke, I spent almost 20 years working at NJBell and later AT&T. Education is my second career ( via alternate route) and I recently completed my 13th season in the Sayreville Public Schools. (Not familiar with Sayreville? Home of Jon Bon Jovi .)
Four years ago, I moved out of my 5th grade Science/Social Studies classroom to almost everyone's classroom. As the Technology Support Teacher, I support 7 schools, PreK-12 with over 7000 students. Usually I spend a day or two in a classroom and book jobs based on student needs and teacher requirements. This year has been extremely hectic since our district converted to Google Apps for Education. Sometimes I would close my eyes at night and see Google in my sleep!
I cannot remember when I wasn't part of the DEN ( I should have looked for my certificate before I cleaned up my office!). My last DENSI was in Silver Spring and I'm looking forward to Nashville.
I live with my two adult children (and only one more year of college tuition!) and enjoy quilting, knitting, and reading. Too bad I cannot do any of this while at spin class at the Y!
I really want to get better at info-graphics and want to make contacts for future classroom partnerships.
