Everywhere I go, there is this exciting bubble floating around my head, reminding me of the fabulous week I am about to spend in Tennessee with great educators who I already know and who I have yet to meet!
I'm excited to be participating in DENSI 2014. I joined the DEN in January, 2006, and have been an enthusiastic member ever since! I have been to five national institutes, including the "Florida Academic Excursion" and many regional and local events.
I joined the Texas leadership council when it was first created and served for three years as Blog Coordinator, then two years as chair. I was also a part of the Second Life Leadership Council. Since the reorganization of the LCs, I have been serving on the Social Media Team.
This year, I was thrilled to be named one of the National School Board Association's 20 Educators to Watch in education technology. I believe everything I have achieved in education technology has been a direct result of the learning, collaboration, and networking that the DEN has provided me!
The slideshow above represents not only my awesome DEN friends, but also my family and some of my hobbies. I have five kids - one will be getting married in December, two are in college (Oklahoma State and Hendrix College), one will be a senior in high school this year and one will be an 8th grader. I am currently pursuing a graduate degree in Sociology at Sam Houston State University and am a theater critic for the Dallas-Fort Worth Area.
