DEN goes Country-attendee
I have been a teacher for 14 years and all have been in either 5th or 6th grade, which I LOVE. My school district doesn't have the greatest technology, but I make do and still manage to get my students to create and explore and enjoy all kinds of technology.
When I arrived at the San Francisco DENSI, I had no idea how much that experience would make change my life forever. The people, the technology, the laughing, the openness, the sharing, the creating...unparalleled experience. I had finally found my people!
Each and every DEN event I have attended has so many benefits for me, both as a teacher and as a human! I learn so very much about different ideas, products, and methods that I bring back so many ideas, I think I overwhelm the people with whom I work, but we manage to make it all work. This all makes me a better teacher and better able to connect with my students and get them to think and manipulate the various tools they are given, as well as encourage them to explore and make mistakes and learn about new technology and how it can make their lives easier or more interesting. Honestly, the BEST part of the DEN is the PLN. I have met some of the most amazing humans in the world and am honored to call them my friends.
I am also a mom (2 grown up girls), cook, gardener, waitress, beer aficionado, wine lover and traveler.
