Discovery Educator Network:
My Twitter bio (@TechCoor) says it best: Believer + Dad + Hubby + Technology Coordinator
For the last 5 years, I have been Technology Coordinator at Fulton High, a restructured magnet school in Knoxville, Tennessee. I'm proud of the results we have achieved, raising our graduation rate from 44% to 82%. I am a passionate champion of leveraging student achievement through technology.
My job didn't exist when I was in school. We have to prepare our students for a future we can't imagine. I love the challenges of working directly with students and staff to effectively integrate technology in the classroom. Every day is different, but the one constant is helping teachers prepare students for amazing careers that haven't been invented yet.
I am a CoSN Certified Education Technology Leader (CETL), a Microsoft Innovative Educator Trainer and a Certified Cognitive Coach. I am a frequent presenter on Technology Leadership, speaking recently at the Florida Educational Technology Conference (FETC), the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Conference, PechaKucha, the Alabama Educational Technology Conference (AETC), the Tennessee Association for Assistive Technology (TAAT) Conference and the Tennessee Special Education Conference. I also serve on the advisory committee for Reach Them to Teach Them.
I want to thank the DEN community for their friendship and support. It is a true family and I am grateful for all the opportunities to learn, network, share and collaborate with these great passionate educators from across the world.
